SpellForce 1 was developed on the "Krass-Engine" (the same used in Aquanox). For SF2 this engine was game specificly redesigned and expanded. The engine did not get a new name durring that development process. So if we would need to name the engine that is used, we should name it "Krass-Engine SF2 Design."
