Hi NeoX,

I installed the hardware patch and while the patch did seem to install, in config.xml the resolution changed to my native resolution of 1920x1080 but when I launch the game it seems to still be the default 1280x1024.

Ive tried several solutions in this thread to no avail. I never open the options menu. I run everything as administrator. I attached my hardware patch log as well as my SMB report.

One thing I noticed in the installer is that it recgonizes the install path as C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Spellforce 2 Gold Edition, but at the end of the log it lists it as "Dragon storm" and not Gold Edition. Could it possibly be finding a different version somewhere? I'm using the steam version.

did you set the game on steam to the gold branch? Because the so called "Anniversary Edition" is incompatible with the settings patch.
Also why do you think the game is still 1280x1024? According tot he patch logs the config should have been updated properly. If you see stretched UI elements, thats sadly normal, because these are hard-assets for 4:3 format.

Yes I reverted to Gold Edition via steam beta.

Yes I believe its not 1920x1080 because the UI elements are very stretched

I just want to make sure, is this what the game is supposed to look like on 1920x1080? The game looks pixelated and the UI elements dominate the screen real estate. It looks significantly different than 1920x1080 on Anniversary version

yes the actual game visuals are properly rendered and not stretched. Only the UI is because of 4:3 hard coded sizes.

Great thanks for the help! I believe it was the FOV that was bugging me - I used the console command UI:SetCameraFOV(1.5) and it seems to be much better.

Cheers!

yeah thats something you have to do, because the standard camera-zoom is designed for 4:3 also.

Have fun with the game!
