ah i see you use a notebook with an Intel IGPU. You see Intel GPU's are not supported by the game-engine of SpellForce 2. You simply need to configure that the game uses the dedicated GPU (nvidia) when using the internal screen. You can also connect an external Monitor to your notebook and play on that. External Monitors connected via HDMI to the notebook, always use the dedicated GPU.

Hey,
I configured game to use dedicated GPU as I don't have external monitor. I have updated Nvidia drivers to the newest. The same thing is happening (changing the resolution, then back to my screen) for a bit longer but that's it unfortunately.
Adding the SMB report from the previous time.
Regards

Hey,
First I could edit the upper post, but now I don't see that option. I wanted to tell that I wrote the issue from the guy after me, and after changing monitor scalling to 100% it worked for me also :).
So other quick question if I anyway making the spam - are there in this forum some guides or something like that for a hero build etc like I found for Spellforce 1?
Regards

Yeah just wanted to tell you the same thing after checking your System-Report. Happy it solved it for you!
Also towards your question about a character planner for SF2, this is sadly not that easy because depending on the game version (base game or dragon storm) the skill requirements are different.
Therefore i recommend you to use this:
viewtopic.php?t=222 (Boost_Island)
What is "Boost_Island"?
___________________________________
The Mod-Map "Boost_Island" is a Mod-Map that allows players to instantly level up to LVL 30 in free game mode and get debug items for fast progression.
With that you can simply create a new character in the free game mode, get boosted to lvl30 and try out the skills/skill-tree as you like.
Its compatible with any version of SpellForce 2.
Have fun!

Hi,
alright i have good and bad news for you:
The good news
:
I found the issue! looks like the map of your game version has no light or daytime information set, and no giving the game nothing visual to render.
On savegame where the proper map is cached in the savegame, all works fine (see attachments).
The bad news
:
Sadly this seems to be saved as a state in your savegame with no way to reset or change it outside of restarted the whole playtrough.
I am very sorry, but the edition of the game you play right now, has this bug hardcoded in.
You can still try out the attached savegame and see thatn it can work on your end if the bug was not saved in.

Sorry for bothering you on this old topic. But right now i'm facing the same issue and it's really frustrating I was looking foward to return to Winterlight Peak as a big Dwarf Fan, playing this game for the first time only be to be completely greeted with black void. I tried your attached save file and it works perfectly, though the character is way too far in the story with the scenario beaten as it seems.
If the issue could've never been solved are you perhaps able to find/create an save file being at Winterlight Peak with textures loaded, with an level 21 character shortly before you could travel to the citatel mainstory progress-wise I've done pretty much all that is possible at this point, except killing one of the Winds in Alluvyan, and speaking with two of the childs in Ghost Watch. I don't mind when the character is differently skilled and equipped. All I hope is that i'm able to proceed with this long side quest. D:

sadly this is related to the buggede Annersary edition. It will happen there again and again, because that version incorretly saves the map information. I always recommend to play classic gold edition or even vanilla Dragon Storm because of that.
Do you have a savegame from before ever entering that map?

Hey there, yeah I have several save files before entering the map from the swimming city. Is there still anything possible?
Btw I could also deal with a bigger throwback as long it doesn't mean I have to replay the whole game again.

I can see if i can fix it for you, please provide me some savegames before entering the map (no autosaves).
But i again highly recommend you not to continue on the anniversary edition, or more bugs like these will appear.

I would be eternally thankful if you somehow could manage to fix it. Maybe I can give you a shoutout when I write my review to the game.
Yeah I would like to refrain from the Anniversary Edition as long its means I somehow can continue my save in another version. Dunno why Nordic has done such a sloppy job.
So I have these two save files that are pretty close to each other in the Swimming City shortly before I enter the portal. On the 3. I'm right in front of the portal with the coordinates set. In 2 I still have to set the coordinates (before the quest gets updated)
The third one with the 15 is in ghostwatch, which is before I enter the swimming city, if somehow you need an even earlier save. I also have a save where I saved at winter light peak when everything went black but I suppose you don't need it.
