Sure hope it saved them some money in that case, because I doubt it did the series any good. I don't have any official numbers, but going by what's available publicly, I don't think SF3 ended up in the green in terms of monetary gain.

At the end of the day, wasted opportunity if you ask me. I will say that moving Grimlore away from SpellForce and giving a shot at it was a good idea in my opinion, even if the genre was different, but you could see from how the devs interacted with fans that they cared, they respected established canon and were very good with listening to feedback, which ultimately resulted in a game that was, by in large, pretty well received (apart from people who just aren't interested in turn based).

So overall, I think going in this direction was a good step by , and though I criticize them often, I also want to point out when they do something right - I just hope that this won't be one of those "one step forwards, two steps back" situations

I personally wouldn't mind if they gave a chance to work on something bigger, maybe even a shot at that SpellForce 1 remaster a lot of people want. They are a capable bunch and think they'd do an amazing job, especially since the head of the studio, Jan Wagner, is someone who had a leading role back when SF1 and SF2 were developed.

The results show for themselves. The bottom line for any company is profit, no matter what they say or claim, because without profit, there is no company/business.

I really hope that whoever is pulling the shots realizes that they should maybe not ignore what the core fanbase asks for - maybe then they'll start seeing green again

So... this happened today...
But lemme start from the begining: a few days ago someone asked for help with the buggy Nightsong quest on DotP, and since I knew about the Community Fix made by Durwyn, NeoX and some others back on the old forum, then NeoX assembled it together with a nice instaler shared it to help other since then.
I knew that NeoX still had it on ModDB, I trying to be helpful posted a reply with a link to that Community Fix.
I've been using it for years when I want to tackle DotP, as bad as it is somehow can be better that all SF3. Change my mind!
...
Anyway, today someone posted some stuff on that channel and to my surprise, my answer was *edited* making the part still up senseless.
So, I decide to ask why. We all know our links:

But I digress, so back to today's fun: I asked about why my comment was edited and later in reply to someone, I mentioned slightly that ModDB links were off limits in that Discord so we better DM if further help needed. Ofc, I wouldn't want to break any rules inadvertently, innit?

And since I find it funny how they try to justify their censorship, I decided some of you, the outcasts, the banned, the true SpellForce fans should also enjoy the fun and admire how things are on the official Discord when you post anything remotly connected to someone they blacklisted like our friend NeoX

It's just nice to have a place where you can post things without it being censored straight away. I would understand someone deleting clearly malicious links, but this links to a patch that's been around longer than discord itself and that has helped a lot of people by now, the only issue with it, for them, is that it comes from people they don't like.

BTW, I checked. The official or main wiki still has NeoX's Community Patch page and with a link to ModDB.
Again, another thing that don't add up with Zidfit reasoning to delete a link, although he also mentioned they don't have any power over wiki's but we all know that one of his Discord moderators is that wiki's admin, innit?
