Thats sadly normal when you have values applied to the game that are outside the normal game code range. Manualy edition the config.lua is sadly the only option.

Do you know what I need to edit, as I have no idea what to edit?

Could you maybe provide me a config file with the correct difficulty setting. Would apreciate a lot.
Just check the "SpellForce" folder in your "Documents" folder directly in your "user" folder. Thats the file with not that many lines.

There its just 1-4 number editing.

There are only the saves stored (.sav files)? And those save files can't be edited to my knowledge. The config.lua is stored in the install folder, and I don't see a difficulty settings line there.

I found it out myself.

I deinstalled 1.54. Installed 1.61 to just launch into the game and go to settings. created my desired config.lua and saved it.
Difficulty settings are stored like this:

UserInterface =
{
GameMode = 2,
}

0 = normal (default setting)
1 = easy
2 = hard

Good that you found it already, wanted to provide an example file, but you were faster.
Have fun with the game!

hi,
thanks for the Mod.

wanted to test it out, since Spellforce 1.54. won´t run, but i got an malicious warning.
tested the 1.8. version with VirusTotal and got 4 hits. probably false positive

https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/f63 ... 93b71cc79c

sorry, if this is not a new problem.
didn`t found it in the readme.

its a false positive for sure. My tests are all negative.
Also even the "System-Meeter-Bar" is detected with the same false positives. Seems to be just signature BS.

Hello, I got myself a Radeon 9070 XT, which was released after the 23.8 driver series. Obviously, there is no 23.8 driver for my video card. Does this mean I'm screwed for playing this game except in ugly 4:3 low resolution?

you can sort of work around it by playing in slightly windowed mode (custom resolution -> your resolution -10px at each end).

Thank you! Meantime, I had to send the 9070 XT back for replacement, so I installed the old Radeon VII in there, installed the 23.8 drivers, and all I'm getting is the splash screen with the sounds, but no display.

I hate to be a pain, but what should I do? I am running spellforce_high_res.exe as admin, is that correct?

Yeah admin is required. Tell me, does your GPU fully support the Vulkan DXVK api? If no, then you should try to run the game without the health-bar fix.
